  SPLIT ROCK CONSERVATION PARK OPEN HOUSE

  Split Rock Conservation Park is a 165-acre outdoor learning center that showcases Boone County’s natural biodiversity, including the spectacular geologic formation known as Split Rock. Visitors may walk the park’s trails and local experts will be on hand to interpret the geology, archaeology, botany, and ecology of this Boone County landmark. Split Rock Park is online at www.splitrockpark.org.

  Race for the Graves Mountain Bike Festival

  The Boone County Parks Department and Historic Preservation Review Board are teaming up for the first annual “Race for the Graves” mountain bike festival at E/I Trails in Burlington. Proceeds from the Sunday, June 15 event will benefit the Old Burlington Cemetery. The Race for the Graves will be very family-friendly with activities for children of all ages and races just for kids! Racers from around the state will compete as the race is part of both the 2008 Kentucky Mountain Bike and the Cincinnati Off Road Alliance Points Series.

  A Summer Concert at Dinsmore -

  Robin Lacy & DeZydeco will be back for a third year to celebrate all that makes New Orleans memorable and special. Concessions include Cajun food, hot dogs, snacks, and desserts, soft drinks, wine, and beer for sale...or feel free to bring your own picnic dinner. We'll have picnic tables under a big tent. You are also welcome to bring chairs or a blanket.

  Kick back and enjoy the sounds of the Blues featuring IIJuicy, Natalie Wells Band and Them Bones with Cheryl Renee. Proceeds benefit the Womans Crisis Center of Northern Kentucky. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and listen as the music drifts off Historic Big Bone Creek.

  The sweet sounds of Kentucky Bluegrass by the Gallatin County Youth Band, The Rumke Mountian Boyes, Ma Crow and the Motherpluckers, Gary Stong and Hardtimes, Bobby Mackey and the PineHill Pickers, bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy our heritage right here at home. The sounds drift off the Spirit of Boone County with Historic Big Bone Creek as a backdrop, bring the entire family.
